So we don't know the specifics yet, but everyone has some idea of what class they want to play.

So what class would you choose to play at this moment? Let us know what class you'll play if we can't group opposing factions, and what you will play if we can.

1. Trooper if we're all republic.
2. Bounty Hunter if we can mix factions.

Trooper or smuggler assuming we are republic and no cross faction grouping (which I highly suspect).

And maybe Jedi as a third alt.

In order of current interest:
Trooper
Sith Inquisitor (but only if I can have a black-bladed lightsaber)
Imperial Agent
Bounty Hunter
Smuggler

All of that is of course subject to change as we learn more

I'm leaning toward Jedi Consular.

DPS trooper

I am a bit torn depending on the side but probably a smuggler/bounty hunter or the Inquisitor/Consular.

I really only looked at smuggler, but I liked what I saw enough to try again.

I'll probably be a healing class, but will play whatever needed to fill our raids, should we be raiders.

I'm not sure what I'll play as of right now, but it'll probably be dps, tank, crowd control, mixed in with some crafting.

I'm thinking crowd control smuggler type. Besides, I like the way the word "smuggle" sounds. It doesn't sound like what it is.

Switch the n to m and I think I get what you are saying.

I'll likely roll a smuggler.

After that Bounty Hunter, Imperial Agent, Sith Inquisitor all sound interesting.

Not a lot of love for the Jedi here.

Well I could see myself playing a Jedi as well. What Joun is will largely depend on what Jess wants to play. She historically over several games prefers healing classes which will mean Consular or Smuggler. And I've grown to like tanking so Jedi or Trooper. Regardless of what Joun is, Arillius is going to be a grizzled old smuggler with a comb over.

It's hard to get excited about something that you have little to no information about. They have been so tight lipped about both the knight and consulor that there is nothing there right now to get excited about and say "Yeah, being able to do X is going to be awesome, I'm so going to play a Jedi". You have that with all of other classes now. And from a personal perspective, I've been playing either a Melee DPS or a Tank for the last 3+ years in EQ2, it's time for a change.

You mean wearing a brown robe and carrying a glowing bat doesn't do it for you?

As always, I refuse to play a "good guys" main; like in SWG, I will play some kind of Twi'lek Imperial. I heard there were race restrictions, though... if I can't be a Lekku-wielding BH, I'm gonna be a little bit pissed.

Yeah we were kind leaning Republic. Which isn't good, or bad. It is all in how you play it.

Interesting thing that I've noticed...everyone who has listed alts has always listed a bunch of Empire side classes.

Just an observation

Honestly, I'm down for either side. I really hope they allow cross-faction interaction, but I doubt it =(

They do, they've even talked about it. It's called PvP.
