Yeah, but it cuts off the right side a bit. Also, what's with the blank blue bar up along the top....

The cut off is something I will work out on the style sheets and html docs for the forum and the blog theme. It will mean that the blog and forums will be fixed width which also means if one of you guys post a pic that exceeds the fixed width it will put a left right scrolly bar on the forums for people looking at that page of the thread. Hopefully though it won't be a huge issue in that case.

The giant blue bar is the header.html file on the forums. The plan today is to take that forum search box out of there and throw it into the forum footer or maybe the forum navigation bar if I can make it look nice. Once I move the search box I'll rewrite that file to make it basically be empty so there will be no header bar on the forum theme that will be the forum default. I will also put a link to the forums proper for people who would rather use a different theme can go directly to the forums. I will probably make prosilver se the default and hack it all to hell to make it look well in the window of the blog, and restore the original prosilver we've had for months to a theme that has a header file and looks like it did more or less a week ago.

Well that's my ambition anyway. I just had the idea how to do this last night and what you see is basically a quick test to see if it would work.

Okay I think I finally have it working mostly. I still need to do just a few more tweaks (like nix the header), but if you want to see how it looks go to the user control panel and change your default theme to Prosilver Special Edition and then go to http://www.thechurchofalvis.com/forum-test/ and see how it looks. I know there is still just tiniest hint of a left right scroll bar and I need to find a few pixels, padding or border elements to shave to get it to go away but I think it is really close.

Okay I've been playing around with the http://www.thechurchofalvis.com/forum-test/ page and realized that for just that page I can remove the sidebar. So I did that, and I got the scroll bars to go away. Also you can use whatever theme you want and it will show just fine.

The catch here, because I don't know how to work around this yet, is that I had to define a pixel length for the forum. This will vary based on what you are looking at. The board index is rather short all things considered, the thread list is longer, and individual threads have the ability to be freaking huge if you guys went all Tolstoy.

So this may mean if you are replying to a post deep on the page of a thread you might have to scroll up to get it. I think what I probably will do is have two top bar menu options. There will be forums with new style and classic style. New being embedded into the blog CSS etc etc and classic being the external link (same host and domain name, just it takes you out of wordpress).

I think quotes of what we say to each other is probably more representative of us than what other people might be saying about us, and give people a better idea of what they might be getting themselves in to if they join us.

That is intentional for now. The reason is that if you look at the forums using the forum test page for embedding and click any link that would take you off the forum including the blog link you get the blog within the blog. Which as much as I love:
