It seems like the Off topic forum is the place getting the most action lately ( meaning the past 6-9 months). I'm wondering if we want to redesign the general forum structure around different elements. (Box up the SWTOR specific stuff, maybe make TV, Console, Table Top, General PC gaming foums, etc?) Just a thought. Input welcome.

I am sure most of the SWTOR stuff can be put to bed.

Otherwise, I am in concurrence with your general selection of Topic names.

How restricted? Registered users or specific forum rank?

I would think rank so the bots don't have access, through could require enough extra work on your part to upgrade everyone that joins so more what your willing to do.

Bots currently are not registered, and registration is currently closed, though I would reopen if we needed to. Registered users would not be google bots, but I could make a user group to make it restricted to post or view if we wanted.

ok well correction of possibly registration to view, role to create posts, just thinking of star citizen and the potential of getting new registrants that could require registration being reopened.

The only reason registration is currently closed is that we are semidormant atm, and the captcha I have installed apparently can be bypassed (though it might just be hired folks in pakistan or something).

Okay here is what I'm thinking: (names are not set in stone, but the structure I think will work)

Public
-General Discussion
-Gaming
-TV and Movies
-Sports

(sub-sub forums in gaming)
PC, Console, Tabletop
PC would have a SWTOR section (basically the archive of the Public information), and a Star Citizen section, Minecraft, plus we would add sections as needed.

Console has a destiny subforum

Tabletop would have diplomacy, DnD etc

Private would have a subforum for each games chapter for private membership (SWTOR, Destiny, Star Citizen etc etc) And sub subs would be created for each as needed.

Unless people have objections I'd like to roll this out in the next week or so.

I've started building the private boards and I'll be sorting the threads into their appropriate new homes over the next week or so. Then I'll be doing the public side of things.

IF you notice you can't access something you should be able to, let me know so I can investigate group permissions etc etc.
