Would it be to much trouble if I asked a SWTOR regular to see if the name 'Fynn' has become available and save it for me? I was going to log in last night (wahhhhhh?!?!) but it had been so long since my last log that it took me a couple hours to patch. Thanks folks!!! Hope to see you some time this week!

Fynn is not available.
The email I got says the name renewal does not start until the 12th. And it looks like they are going to be taking there time un-naming characters, sending out spam emails to name owners to try to get them back into the game.

Same result here, but I had the date wrong! Fingers crossed that 'Fynn' becomes available.

Day one of the great naming options is today...as a friendly reminder.
I'll have to be checking the next week or so to see if Tony and Tesar are available again...

So how does this work? Are they releasing names over the coming week/month? Are all names purged as of today? Still no luck on Fynn, but I have my fingers crossed

Found the information.
If you are a Free-to-Play player:
If your character is below level 10, and you have not played that character in the last 60 days, your character will be flagged for rename.
If your character is below level 30, and you have not played that character in the last 120 days, your character will be flagged for rename.
Characters level 30 and above will be unaffected.
If you are a Preferred Status player:
If your character is below level 10, and you have not played that character in the last 90 days, your character will be flagged for rename
If your character is below level 30, and you have not played that character in the last 180 days, your character will be flagged for rename.
Characters level 30 and above will be unaffected.
If you are or become a Subscriber:
You will be unaffected by this
So that may mean the name will never open up if the character with fynn is level 30 or above. Hopefully that will not be the case and /or they will up the minimum as time goes on to open up the name.
Really wish they had a way to look up information on how soon it could open up.

This looks rather disappointing. As most people took their characters to the end game, found it lacking and stopped playing.
So names will be available in January I am guessing.
