For those of you, which is almost all of you, who weren’t around in the SWG days I present to you…a brief history of the Luftwaffle.
A long time ago in a game now dead the first major expansion to SWG was Jump to Lightspeed. JTL introduced the space game to SWG and it had a combination of PvE quests and also PvP combat as well. The biggest thing about it was that it, like most of the rest of the game, was sandbox and therefor it was up to the players to create most of the content. Which we kindly obliged SOE with. As we were wont to do in those days we came up with the idea of forming a squadron for us to join together under. And so it came to pass that the idea was proposed and much discussion was had about what to call said squadron. Until a stroke of brilliance by yours truly, when I suggested the Luftwaffle.

Now most people wouldn’t understand why this was so brilliant, so let me explain. No, there is too much, let me sum up. There is the obvious connection to the Luftwaffe and German’s air superiority that held for most of WWII. But what is so brilliant about adding 1 letter you may be asking yourself. Well I’ll tell you. And that secret comes from Scylla server lore itself, which was where the phrase “Find Nub, Pwn Nub, Go to IHOP” was coined. Because really, where better to get righteous vengeance on a bunch of waffles after a hard night of drinking than IHOP?

And with that stroke of brilliance the Luftwaffle was born. And now it has the opportunity to spread it’s own brand of syrupy destruction across the landscape of ToR. I, for one, cannot wait.

OK, Electronic Arts...you now have my attention. Please don't screw this up.

This may peak my curiosity enough for me to hold on to my subscription a bit longer and pop my head back into the game...

All hail the Luftwaffle! Nobody can deny its air syruperiority! With their squadron of Butterschmitt 292s they are unstoppable!

I'd go on, but I think I hear Furiel peeing in my bed.

It was just a warning spritz...

But please, do go on, I have a nearly full bladder yet

I'll be patching tonight, not sure how long I'll be on, but if you guys are on I could do a match or two.

Last night I ran one match and did the tutorial (in that order). The match was fun. The ship selection is something that has tactical value. Though if one is more fun to play I could easily see a similar problem to class FPS where everyone takes sniper. When you die in the match you can switch ships.

I'd suggest doing the tutorial though because I didn't have any idea how to make my missiles work in the match I played and I think that would have been better for me.

I did both as well but did the tutorial first since I'd read there was a tutorial so knew to look for it, and yea enjoying it so far.

Ran two missions on Arrilius last night. Was fun. It is fast paced enough to make you feel like you need to be on your toes, but not so fast that you feel helpless.

Last night I learned you can upgrade parts using fleet coms you get when running starfighter matches.

Oh a little tip. hit X and you'll come to a full stop. If you set up real close to a objective point (so you use it as some cover) you can in essence act like a turret.
