Getting the most bang for your CC buck

Post by Furiel » Mon Nov 12, 2012 10:36 pm

I should probably seek help for this but I spend some time today pricing out items in credits compared to CC cost with 1.5 hitting this week and Skiggity asked me to share my results, so I thought I would. What I did was look at the credit cost and divide by the cartel coin cost, which wielded a credits to coin ratio, so obviously the more credits your cartel coin was worth the better.

The #1 thing to buy with your CCs to save yourself credits is......(insert drum roll here)
The GTN box!!! At a whopping 5555 credits/coin.
Next is species unlocks at 4285 followed closely by the ship repair droid at 4000.
I could continue, but if there is any kind of demand I can go ahead and upload a copy of the spreadsheet I made for people's perusal.

Aaaaand, my spreadsheet is outdated, in BW's infinite wisdom they changed some of the prices for stuff at launch. I'll work on getting it updated.

I have updated the sheet and added the rocket boots, which I missed in the first iteration.

Supremely awesome, thanks. Your cartel coin to credit conversion chart for Star Wars The Old Republic deserves many Google hits. I wonder if describing this SWTOR Cartel Coin conversion chart in detailed terms will help you get some hits. After all, it tells you how many SWTOR Cartel Coins to spend on items and unlocks compared to in-game credits.

Aaaaand, that should do it.

Now the other thing to buy is those Crime Lord boxes, right? They have the weird unlocks that you can later sell?

So anyone get anything good? I spent all my coins on Crime Lord packs. Nothing amazing; a couple of weird mounts, some lacy underthings for Anna, crafting mats, XP boosts, a bat-thing pet or two.

The standouts:
Satele Shan holoprojector, basically a portable skill-leveling terminal.
Menace emote for legacy.
Cartel Collector title (I think that's what it was)

Gonna see if they're worth anything on GTN when they unbind.

I spent mine on Rocket boasters, but as a vehicle it can not be used in combat. :( bad bw! The CR/CC ratio was very good 6333 for 1, 8333 for 2, and 12500 for 3.

I was looking at the gear, but once again, there is no end game stuff. It would be nice if the stuff had set bonuses.

Oh well, onward I play.

I think they're avoiding the pay-to-win thing, so don't expect Cartel Coins to be capable of buying any Dread Guard gear.

I did notice that the +41 crystals you can buy with Coins are equippable at level 33. That's a BIG boost for that level.

How many coins do we get each month as subscribers?
EDIT: Looks like 6-month sub gets 600 per month, plus 100 for any friends who remain subscribed. Timmah, I'm gonna need you to stay on for a while, mmkay?

The way I read the statement for cc coins is that you get have a minimum of 500 or 600 coins. I interpreted that as they will top you up to that amount. Ie, if you 300 coins at the end of the month, you get 200/300 coins to get you to the minimum level.

I bought the rocket boosters. In spite of the fact that you cannot use them in combat, they're still neato.

I bought two cartel packs. One of them contained a hawt pink flamed rendill speeder. Not sure what to do with it.

The other was an adaptive "invisible" Corso Riggs chestpiece. You can be nekkid and have full armor. The rest of the stuff was either companion gifts or pure junk.
