Looking for Netflix recommendations

Post by Blackferne » Wed Jul 07, 2010 9:35 pm

We're coming to the end of our Queue for TV series (have a couple things still banked ready to go) but I'm wondering if anyone has good Netflix TV series recommendations.

And GO!

I didn't think I'd like it, but I really liked Entourage. I hear Sasha Gray is in a recurring role in the new season starting soon.

I just finished watching Star Trek TNG, DS9, Voyager and Enterprise in their entirety. I'm trying to find the Original Series...

Eureka is awesome but there's only 3 seasons so far.

Going to do a Stargate burst soon I think, movie first, then SG-1 and Atlantis and the 2 movies they've done.

You should watch Doctor Who. Start with the reboot and keep on plugging.

We saw the pilot for Caprica and was a bit underwhelmed compared to BSG awesomeness, maybe a fresh look will be good.

http://www.youtube.com/show/startrek?s=1 ST:TOS all available on youtube in its entirety. Thanks CBS.

We watched Enterprise in its entirety, might start TNG and go to DS9 and Voyager when we get that far in TNG.

We just finished SG Atlantis (already saw all of SG1 and one of teh two movies. Haven't touched SG:Universe yet.

Eureka might get queued. Entourage is already on the Queue.

Big Bang Theory is the greatest TV Sitcom of all time in my opinion. It's a must.

Boston Legal was a great show.

Kristen and I are watching the seasons of Lost right now.

Legend of The Seeker was an okay CW series based on some books we really liked. Not really a very good series but we watched it anyways.

Hung has one season out, and it's alright. New season just started.

I enjoyed the Tudors, Kristen did not.

Weeds is good.

Firefly if you haven't watched it. And if you haven't you should be perma-banned.

I really liked Deadwood. For a more mature audience for sure.

Kristen and I like True Blood. About Vampires. Another Mature audience show.

I like the Mentalist.

Six Feet Under is pretty good. I've watched the first 2 seasons.

That's all I can think of right now that might be worth watching.

Big bang is surprisingly funny on a consistent basis. I kind of expected it to have a limited number of story lines but they constantly come up with new ones and keep running jokes fresh. The witty banter often reminds me of conversations...if you can call them that...here on the boards. It deserves better than some of it's reviews.

Six feet under was very entertaining. Now I don't associate anthony Michael hall or Alan ball with it since they did Dexter.

John Adams was far better than the critics reviews.

The pacific was ok, but not as engaging as band of brothers.

Nurse Jackie is entertaining if you like watching drug addicts steal, manipulate and lie to their loved ones. But we have d00d for that.

True blood is entertaining, lots of eye candy for guys and girls alike.

I almost mentioned The Tudors but I liked the first season and the rest kind of went downhill... I liked the jousting and stuff.

I finished all seven seasons of Star Trek :TNG, and right now I am on the last episode of the last season of DS9. I bought all of Star Trek: TOS on Blu ray, and I am starting to get Enterprise. Don't know which of the two to watch next. I might get Voyager someday, but I can't stand Janeway's voice.

Dexter is great though, I love that show.

I still watch Smallville, season 10 starts in Sept., for all that can be said about that, it has gotten a lot better the last two seasons.

I like True Blood. I also watch Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. That show is great.

We finished 6ft under years ago. Kit I will say the series really drags in season 3 and early season 4 before picking back up leading to a pretty good series end.

And yes I've seen Firefly.

There's always the Hello Kitty series. Furiel let me borrow them and I haven't returned them yet. They're very additctive.

If you haven't watched Deadwood, you need to immediately. It is some of the best television I have ever seen.

And there is a lot of drinking and revenge.

Deadwood is awesome. I am totally in love with Ian McShane because of his character in that. I could listen to him read the phonebook as long as he peppered in some color adjectives when reading the names.

You guys are missing the most important series out there. Stuff like Animaniacs, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, Pinky and the Brain.

But also Fringe, Supernatural, Reaper.

We started Life on Mars (UK not US) last night so only 2 episodes in, but so far it is really good. We added it to the queue a while ago after seeing John Simm play the Master on Doctor Who, and even though he is great in this, the real scene stealer is the guy who plays his boss. It is kinda like reverse Good Guys (currently airing on Fox) with a dash of Lost and Hot Fuzz involved. And Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister) reminds me a lot of Al Swearengen (Ian McShane) from Deadwood. He has the same morally ambiguous outlook on life with the same command of the scene Swearengen does, yet he does so with out really swearing. It is like he doesn't need it.
