Building my home. Very time consuming, and I still have a ways to go.

I'm not an architect or anything, but unless a roof get put up somewhere I think your stuff is gonna get wet.
Looks pretty huge. Is this a template, or do they have modules you can piece together? Or is it straight minecraft/legoing it up?

Straight up Lego man. You get basic square and round shapes, you have to harvest the raw materials to build with and lay them down. You start with an add and delete function, and you actually have to use the crafting process to manufacture your building tools.
The 3rd skill I crafted myself was a "selection tool" for mass item selections, which I can then copy and paste.
The 4th skill I crafted was the "smoothing" tool, pretty obvious by name what that might do.
You also have to craft your harvesting tools, so you can harvest higher tier items, to make better building materials and so on...
Once you build things, you can actually save the templates, and later they plan on implementing a system for players to market their templates.
That hilltop I am building on was actually full of trees and rocks, and completely uneven. Then I came in all settler-like and made it flat.

That... that looks quite nice, actually.
A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn. - Edmund Blackadder

Oh yeah.. also, they do not have weather cycles built in yet. The forecast for the forseeable future is "Sunny with high scattered clouds. Evenings are mostly clear with a lot of moonlight"Blackferne wrote:I'm not an architect or anything, but unless a roof get put up somewhere I think your stuff is gonna get wet.
Plus, I ran outta wood. Need to do more chopping this weekend.

If that's for the bare coolness of my structure, Thanx! (if not, that's ok too lol )Jimer Lins wrote:That... that looks quite nice, actually.
Otherwise, I will say the pictures actually look like crap compared to being in the game. So the visual-awesomeness factor of playing it is large.
When the sun changes angles, so does the ambient light color. Sunsets and Sunrises are pretty orange-y, Midday is very bright, etc etc. I'll see if I can remember to get some pics through the forests and whatnot.

Also I don't mean to critique your choices, but are lanterns not available? Torches just seems soooo 300 BC.

Like everything else, they have to be crafted. I was smart and am building out in the desert.Blackferne wrote:Also I don't mean to critique your choices, but are lanterns not available? Torches just seems soooo 300 BC.
