So, how about that new computer issue....?

First off, although this is something that was out of my control, I apologize to the KP raiders last night since we were in a really great spot to win the zone...
At this point I have narrowed my issue down to 1 of 3 things:
Hard Drives
Motherboard
CPU
Basically in that priority. Essentially my MoBo is coding an IDE detect error, which points almost directly at the hard drives (unless I'm reading my coding completely wrong). So tonight is workbench night.... with any luck I'll be back up and running by mid-evening.

That was the very error I got when my hard drive died.

Great,
Then my main question is, providing this holds true for me, can my system still boot in safe mode with this error if the problem is my primary drive? And... would I get an IDE detect error for my hard drives even though they are not routed through IDE cables? I have NOTHING on IDE. No IDE cable in my tower. My HDD's are both on SATA setups.
Cuz right now I am booted up in safe mode with networking and its good. Being as I am not at home I can't say any more than that. One thing though, is that I have not checked to see if all of my drives are showing up in my drive list.
I'd so much rather be at home workin this out, then being at work trying to think it over....

Well on a bright note we finished KP without you. We managed to snag Biscotti from Snark to fill in and Dorja tanked and Leth played corpse shield on the trash and we got to, through and killed Karragga. We did wipe once on the slug before we applied enough salt to him, but he still died and we were done around 10:45, so had I been on time and you PC not crashed we can probably get KP done now in just over 2 hours.
And my gut says MOBO and your chipset went bad.

I happy you guys got to finish. Not sure y'all know the dread I felt when I heard that weird "bleep" come outta my system... cuz I knew I didn't own anything in my apartment that standardly made that sound.

Frankly, I'd be secretly happy if it was my Motherboard. While I think it is cool lookin and all, and I love the EVGA boards, this one was on the lower end of functional for me.

I honestly cant remember how long the IDE error came up before my drive tanked, but I can tell you I lost everything. Nothing was recoverable. I do remember the message came up for at least a few days or more before it tanked.

I know there is a joke in there somewhere about your porn being your family pictures, but I just can't bring myself to make it.

Granny had to make ends meet during WW2. You can't judge her.

Just cuz Donna does Dubuque is your 1987 family Xmas video doesn't make you weird. The fact that you have watched it repeatedly tho....
