yeah it is a purely MW4 issue last week and not a vent server issue.

ok, let me rephrase...Even though team-killing is disabled no one is forcing you leave the ammo crates so Blackie can build a dispenser with them.Blackferne wrote:No worries about healing me. I tend to play engineer so my dispenser heals me.

When engaged in a defensive position where you have a moderate amount of time, build the dispenser first.Bulwark wrote:ok, let me rephrase...Even though team-killing is disabled no one is forcing you leave the ammo crates so Blackie can build a dispenser with them.Blackferne wrote:No worries about healing me. Remember, even though team-killing is disabled no one is forcing you to not lure enemy players to the position that Blackie is attempting to build his dispenser at.Blackferne wrote:When engaged in a defensive position where you have a moderate amount of time, build the dispenser first.Bulwark wrote:ok, let me rephrase...Even though team-killing is disabled no one is forcing you leave the ammo crates so Blackie can build a dispenser with them.Blackferne wrote:No worries about healing me. Yes. Lure them to my dispenser and increasingly powerful sentry gun. I'll take the kill points sure.Furiel wrote:Remember, even though team-killing is disabled no one is forcing you to not lure enemy players to the position that Blackie is attempting to build his dispenser at.Blackferne wrote:When engaged in a defensive position where you have a moderate amount of time, build the dispenser first.Bulwark wrote:ok, let me rephrase...Even though team-killing is disabled no one is forcing you leave the ammo crates so Blackie can build a dispenser with them.Blackferne wrote:No worries about healing me. Has anyone ever used a PS3 or XBOX 360 controller connected to their PC? I suck at mouse/keyboard and thought it might be nice to try. Unfortunately, the instructions are all in Chinglish and the driver is a download from a sketchy chinese website.

That's like asking if anyone knows how to hook up a sail to their jetski.
There is about 2cm of motion on a controller and 10+ on a mouse. Accuracy will be terrible. That's why most console shooters use auto-aim.

4. play an engineer. Build shit, let the devices do the work.

shush, we are putting him on your team and making him a sniper.
Re: Church Picnic 10/13 (Thursday)
It's more about mobility than aiming for me. I played a lot of HALO, so I can do a lot more in the way of air movement and jumping moves with a controller. With a mouse and keyboard, I pretty much run in straight lines, and jump only when necessary.

But yeah Cuspar even if you could get a control to work, you will get owned by people with mouse and keyboard.

The wired XBOX 360 controller has the drivers built in. I still have mine from launch day, I use it for Halo 2 on PC, used it for DC Universe Online, and Gears of War for PC. I read you had to do some weird stuff to get the PS3 one to work right, and I don't have a clue about the wireless xbox 360, but if you have a plug n play for that controller, it should work since it is USB. I haven't used a controller at the same time of being on vent though, so I don't know what I would use as a push to talk button (i click the mouse wheel in) and I don't want to be one of those dirty bastards that just has the line open all the time and not muted.Cuspar wrote:Has anyone ever used a PS3 or XBOX 360 controller connected to their PC? Last week, Arrican and I hijacked vent for a bit for Dark Souls, because that game disables party chat. I was wondering what was going on when I saw three Blackfernes in the other chat at the same time.

I think the compatibility error was between the computer and the chair for everyone who had problems.
I have a Logitech Dual Action controller I use for Arkham Asylum and some other games and it works just fine. Even worked with MW4, but mouse/keyboard is king for FPS's.

So that was good. If only a certain Packer's owner/Brewers fan could have risen to the occasion to stop the Tyranny of Bulwark.

Just imagine being one of Bennett's inept cannon fodder and Bulwark as Col. Matrix and you kind of get the idea. He never killed me last btw. He lied.

Re: Church Picnic 10/13 (Thursday)
I think Jeezbus and Bulwark were probably the best players last night. I don't know how much Bulwark's toys made a difference because they aren't supposed to be a huge boost per Valve, just tweaks to your game play style. Like I have the classic medgun for healing which charges to Uber faster and gives more crits, but as I found out last night the downside is that I am no longer protected so I got wollaped. Engineers have a glove which allows for a minisentry gun. Shoots faster, cheaper and quicker to build, but can't be upgraded.
I mean last night on the Well CTF map I was an engineer (which as you all saw I could be pretty effective at...I'm looking at you Raikir) and he picked me apart as an engineer with a normal shotgun at range. That isn't toys, that is just being good.
The more you play and the more you get familiar with maps the better you will get. I would say if we do it again we limit it to CTF and King of the Kill maps (very small set too like 2fort and well for CTF and lumberyard and turbine for KotH) so people can really get comfortable with the maps and where stuff is.
Also next time we need to just have it be Bulwark versus the mob.

I switched over to default guns about half way through the evening. I think knowing the maps makes a much bigger difference (especially on control point and capture the flag). I think King of the Hill and escort/train maps would be a better choice as the map doesn't make as much of a difference.

Well playing an hour of 1 CTF map people would learn it pretty well and not get lost. Well seems pretty straight forward. Despite how much I prefer 2fort.Bulwark wrote:I switched over to default guns about half way through the evening.
