With Boccior's Saboteur spec, I've always loved the AoE but been unable to get close to the "theoretical" DPS from Simulationcraft in operations. Like, hundreds of DPS off (~1600 theo vs 1150-1200 in raids, maybe 1350 on the dummy). After reading around, seems like dirty fighting or dirty/sab hybrid are in vogue these days so I thought I'd try it out.

For me, this is fantastic - I still get the AoE boost from Independent Anarchy as well as the energy regen from sab charge, but also get a bit more of a structured rotation. And the DPS is already massively improved - my theo is now around 1630 (nice bump just from spec change) and I can easily hit mid/high 1400's on the op dummy, over 1500 if I think about it.

This is the way I've been playing it - still room for improvement, could probably get close to 1600 with an optimized rotation:

1. Flourish Shot (armor debuff)
2. Vital Shot (bleed)
3. Shrap bomb (bleed)
4. Wounding Shots (extra damage per bleed)
5. <fill> while WS is on cooldown
6. Wounding Shots (while VS and SB are still ticking)
7. Reapply VS
8. Reapply SB
9. Carry on...


The filler can be something like sab charge + speed shot to gain energy back from the contingency charges, XS flyby, aimed shot, Smuggler's luck + charged shot, flurry of bolts if <60 energy, basically go to a priority list. But always have the bleeds up and wouding shots on cooldown.

One thing to note is that crit rating is a bit more important - fighting spirit gives you 2 energy for each bleed tick that crits. I've got 303 crit and it seems to work pretty well, energy is a bit tougher to manage than full saboteur, but not much.

Anyway, just thought I'd throw it out there because I was getting frustrated with saboteur and was only really making DPS gains with gear. Let me know if anyone trys it or has any suggestions.

Oh! I also lost the 3% accuracy skill, but it doesn't make much of a difference since the big damage is tech skills.

Awesome end result Timma, your DPS last night was off the chizzy.

Over 1400 in most long fights?

Thanks Skig! Yeah dread guard was about 1430, highest non-aoe boss fight for me. Over 200 DPS jump from my previous best, and I still had a "whoops I'm at 5 energy" moment - was in the 15s before that. Absolutely loving it! Also, movement doesn't take away from the potential at all, those are close to the ops dummy numbers I was seeing.
